Healthcare Stat of the Week: 1 in 4 Healthcare Visits Now Happen with NPs and PAs

Over 25% of all U.S. healthcare visits are now with nurse practitioners and physician assistants rather than doctors, per IQVIA and Harvard Medical School data.

Why this matters
While doctors are always important, they are not the only healthcare provider influencing patients, in fact they sometimes are not seeing them at all. For many patients, an NP or PA may be the only clinician they see at a given visit.

Steps to take
Treat NPs and PAs as a primary care-delivery audience, not just a prescribing one. Patient education and disease-state materials need to be built with them as the intended audience.

How we can help
IQM’s mapping of the full care team, not just doctors, lets brands reach the NPs and PAs handling a quarter of all healthcare visits, closing a gap generic HCP data doesn’t solve. Fill out the form below to put this visit-share shift to work in your next campaign.
